My quick notes on “Trump News” while it’s blowing up

I wasn’t trying to get pulled into the trending vortex, but Trump News got me anyway.

I can’t help noticing how different generations search for different reasons.

What I saw people linking to

I didn’t expect BBC to be the one that clarified it, but ‘Trump says Canada wants 'benefits' of being US state after trade talks collapse’ did exactly that. It was enough to send me down a quick research spiral.

Seeing those headlines helped me understand why Trump News is trending today ‘ it’s not just random curiosity; it’s people trying to piece together the same moment from different angles.

It’s a good reminder that information travels faster than understanding.

If you want to peek at the trend card yourself, here’s the source link I started from: https://trends.google.com/trending/rss?geo=GB

What I’m trying to do (for my own sanity) is split the topic into three quick questions:

  • What is it? (the plain-English version)
  • Why do people care right now? (the ‘what just happened?’ angle)
  • What does it say about the moment? (the vibe check)

Even without perfect answers, that little framework usually gets me from ‘huh?’ to ‘okay, I get it.’

If you have a different read on Trump News, I’d love to hear it.

And of course, this could all be old news by dinner time. That’s the internet for you.
