A curious thing about “India” that I can’t stop thinking about

The internet has chosen its topic of the day, and apparently it’s India.

I’m always wary of hot takes, but I do enjoy the first draft of public opinion.

What I saw people linking to

The article that pulled me in first was ‘India expels thousands of migrants in dead of night’ from Financial Times.

Seeing those headlines helped me understand why India is trending today ‘ it’s not just random curiosity; it’s people trying to piece together the same moment from different angles.

Honestly, I didn’t expect to care about this, and that’s exactly why it intrigued me.

If you want to peek at the trend card yourself, here’s the source link I started from: https://trends.google.com/trending/rss?geo=GB

What I’m trying to do (for my own sanity) is split the topic into three quick questions:

  • What is it? (the plain-English version)
  • Why do people care right now? (the ‘what just happened?’ angle)
  • What does it say about the moment? (the vibe check)

Even without perfect answers, that little framework usually gets me from ‘huh?’ to ‘okay, I get it.’

Anyway, that’s my little check-in with India today. If you’ve been following it too, I’d genuinely love to know what you think is driving the interest.

Sometimes I think the real story is the speed: how fast attention gathers, and how fast it dissolves.
